Working with Paulina (evaluation) on coding our qualitative survey data was incredibly helpful! This is something we’d never done before so her insight was invaluable. Ashley also provided welcome suggestions and insight into the process. The “process” publication work we’ve done with Rose and Heather (publishing) has been very interesting! The writing prompts and discussions we’ve had during meetings have helped us to think deeply about our project and reflect on the good things that can come out of this work, despite the numerous challenges. We’ve really appreciated the team learning sessions we had with Karl (Leadership), both the Core Values and the Busy is a Choice sessions have provided valuable insights and helped us to make better use of our time and talents.
The virtual chat we did with Rose’s (digital engagement) help was also a success! Neither Anne N nor I had participated in something like that before, and it went well.
And while we haven’t met 1:1 with Hellina (Partnership Development), she introduced us to the idea of a Case Statement for our project and why it would be a good idea. With her encouragement, we now have a working draft.
Significant Results: ● Reached 20 on Virtual Chat; reached 38 in WEP Hub Survey
○ Results from Virtual Chat have been coded, but not quantified. We mostly used broad information to help inform WEP Hub categories and structure. ○ Results from the WEP Hub survey have been very useful for informing Hub content and structure as well as establishing the need for this work. ● Examples from survey results: ○ Based on a networking survey we conducted (n=38), the majority (79%) of respondents said that a WEP Hub-type clearing house with resources in one location would somewhat or definitely improve their organization’s outreach and education planning. ○ We also found that there are particular challenges and opportunities that the WEP Hub can address. For example, a majority of our respondents (57%) indicated that an overall lack of topical materials and templates strongly or moderately impacts their ability to conduct outreach, engagement, and education activities. ○ The lack of knowledge related to social science strongly or moderately impacts outreach and education programming among 71% of respondents, and nearly half (48%) said that staff communication or presentation skills strongly or moderately impacted program effectiveness.
