Scaling Juntos Fellow: Diana Urieta, North Carolina State University Roadmap

Fellow Report: In early March we met with national 4-H Council leadership to discuss working together to scale Juntos. Discussed the 50 million they received and if Juntos could benefit. National is putting together an advisory committee to support the best way to use funds. Juntos team received Ripple Effect Mapping training which is a qualitative community-centered evaluation tool. Juntos NC will pilot the tool during the summer academy, we will use what we learn to inform other Juntos sites on the practices and implementation results. A meeting with Rich Bonanno and NIFA leader Bill Hoffman was successful and led to information on the new NIFA Workforce development YEA RFA. The meeting also led to scheduling a Juntos presentation during NIFAs monthly staff call. Seventy-seven NIFA staff attended the Juntos presentation. After talking with the NIFA YEA project manager, Juntos NC decided to submit a proposal that will have a scaling focus and advance the Juntos work beyond high school graduation. We continue to work on the 2nd phase of the Juntos podcasts and we are also working on the sustainability fact sheet publication with the support of the Extension Foundation. Experience(s) working with your Catalysts and Key Informants: Continue to see the catalyst and Key Informants as a resource of knowledge and expertise that is enhancing the Juntos work nationally.

Does your project work with diverse, under-served, or underrepresented audiences? Yes

Please explain briefly how your project works with these audiences. Juntos works with a majority Latinx communities (students and their families) and supports their academic journey while empowering them with Access, knowledge, and resources in a culturally responsive framework. Many of our students are first-generation students. Significant Results: ● Ripple Effect Mapping Training and Pilot plan, practices for other states to follow, lead to future publications ● The Juntos Presentation to NIFA personnel, has already led to NIFA wanting to do a site
