RRCD Regional Listening Sessions Fellow: Stephan Goetz, Pennsylvania State University Roadmap
Fellow Report: Report from Stephan Goetz: Progress has been accomplished through the coordination of team efforts through two working groups of the RRDC staff: ● The Design Team with primary responsibility for implementation of the four topical and four regional listening sessions ● The Data Analysis Team with primary responsibility for analysis of Listening Session qualitative data. RRDCs took leadership of certain elements, including publicizing their regional listening sessions and ongoing communication with listening session facilitators. Both teams have met regularly, on an as needed basis, along with asynchronous coordination of efforts culminating in the delivery of all eight listening sessions. Listening sessions were carried out as follows: ● Regionally focused sessions: ○ North Central, March 22 ○ Northeast, April 5
○ West, April 13 ○ South, April 20 ● Topically focused sessions:
○ Broadband and the Digital Divide (SRDC) March 23 ○ Rural Innovation and Entrepreneurship (NERCRD) March 29 ○ Workforce Development, Training and Education (NCRCRD) April 19 ○ Community Planning, Leadership and Governance (WRDC) April 26
Facilitators: There were 22 facilitators from all four regions engaged in this process. Payment has been initiated or processed for 19 of the 22 facilitators so far.
