Quarterly Reports NTAE Year 3 Qtr 3

National Extension Tourism Network Scaling UP Fellow: Stephan Goetz, Pennsylvania State University Roadmap

Fellow Report: With few exceptions, we have met as a project team two times per month to advance the work on objectives, bringing in Key Informants as needed. At each meeting, we make decisions on how to proceed on each objective and assign action items to team members, who execute them independently before the following meeting.

One-pager can be found here.

Experience(s) working with your Catalysts and Key Informants: Our Catalyst, Scott Reed, has been immensely helpful. We meet with him twice a month to discuss progress on the NTAE grant. He has connected us with several Key Informants including Megan Hirshman, Ashley Griffin, Aaron Weibe, Rose Hayden-Smith, Hellina Tadesse, and others.

Does your project work with veterans or veteran farmers? No

Please explain briefly how your project works with veterans or veteran farmers. We do not currently have a specific project focused on veterans or veteran farmers, however our programs are open to all interested. Through the work of the NET evaluation committee, we expect to collect more detailed data on participants and can include veterans as a category. We do not currently have data on veterans served through our projects. Does your project work with diverse, under-served, and underrepresented audiences? Yes Please explain briefly how your project works with these audiences. We have created a NET DEIA committee with the goal of expanding outreach to diverse, under-served, and underrepresented audiences. The committee is led by Natalie Chin of University of Wisconsin Sea Grant. Recruitment of committee members is currently underway, and we have plans to connect with minority serving institutions to invite them to be a part of NET and develop programs focused on diverse, under-served, and underrepresented audiences. Similar to data collection efforts regarding veterans, we expect to collect more detailed data on NET project participants and can include DEIA categories.
