Fellow Report: Dr. Ed Jones was hired and began in his new position as Executive Director for ECOP 4-H. Donna Rae Scheffert continued to actively facilitate the monthly ECOP 4-H Executive Committee meetings and the monthly ECOP 4-H Leadership Committee zoom meetings.
In addition, the following work was discussed and accomplished during the past quarter -
AFRI grant - “Data Science for Food and Agricultural Systems” Opportunity to support national collection of 4-H data.
Reps from the following groups were convened for an initial brainstorm meeting: PLWG, ECOP 4-H, National 4-H DEI Implementation Team for Organizational, Assessment, Data Governance & Measurement, and PLWG Charter Group on Data Management. ECOP 4-H liaisons promoted the opportunity within their network and asked for LGUs to identify interest in serving as PI on a proposal. Purdue University has expressed interest in submitting a proposal and will be working in coordination with the above-mentioned groups. AFRI Grant – “Education and Workplace Development Program” Opportunity for regional proposal as well as Coordinating Network Hub proposal The goals are to maximize the success of receiving these funds and to synergistically support local, regional and national 4-H priorities. Ed Jones, in his new role as Executive Director for ECOP 4-H, will help facilitate communication and serve as a point of contact in connecting dots between emerging partnership opportunities. ECOP 4-H reps will also help facilitate and identify opportunities that are emerging within the regions. Important Feedback Loop on National Initiatives Please lookout for the following surveys. Each will be short (less than 10 mins) and serve as a critical feedback loop. • OJJDP—National 4-H Council is assessing interest and intent from Program Leaders for the next RFA from the Justice Department grant • PYD Academies—PLWG is sending a survey gauging the support of Program Leaders for a regular PYD Academy series, exploring the benefit of the series to the 4-H system
