Data Science and Community Voice - ECOP Health Program Action Team Fellow: Roger Rennekamp, University of Kentucky Roadmap Fellow Report: The Extension Foundation has contracted with Colorado State University to purchase a portion of the professional time of Sue Schneider and Dan Goldhamer to execute the project. Sue and Dan are currently in the process of identifying existing data hubs across the land grant university system that provide health-related data of use to county-based Extension professionals. Experience(s) working with your Catalysts and Key Informants: Scott Reed has served as the Catalyst for this project, ensuring that it aligns with the CLD3 in initiative of Cooperative Extension and ensuring that Dan and Sue are aware of the wrap-around services provided by the Extension Foundation.

Does your project work with diverse, under-served or underrepresented audiences? Yes

Please explain briefly how your project works with these audiences. The central focus of this project is to assist Extension faculty and staff in identifying communities and groups that are experiencing the greatest burdens to improving or maintaining optimum health. These are often people of color and those who reside in rural areas. Data presented by census tract or zip code allows Extension staff to focus resources on those experiencing the greatest health disparities and inequities. While data reveal where inequities exist, the people who live in a particular area tell us why the data are as they are. From there Extension can engage as a parent to design precision interventions with and for those specific groups represented in the data sets. Significant Results: ● Sue and Dan have access to a web page located on the Extension Collective for Health Equity and Well-Being website where they have begun to post links to health-related data hubs. Anticipated work for the next reporting period (June 1, 2022 - August 31, 2022): ● Host a virtual convening of professionals from land grant institutions that have developed data portals for community use. ● Determine the feasibility of creating a health equity “data commons” and a related
