National Digital Education Extension Team: Bridging the Digital Divide & ECOP Broadband ProgramAction Team Fellow: Rachel Wellborn, Mississippi State University Roadmap NDEET This NTAE Project works with the ECOP Broadband Program Action Team (that also received funding from NTAE for the ECOP PAT). Fellow Report: The purpose of this project is to develop a Community Digital Access Toolkit and train CES Coaches to help communities that are lagging in broadband adoption to explore and address issues along the entire continuum of broadband engagement that leads to closing the digital divide, unlike efforts that only look at one component of the continuum The planning team identified some relevant existing resources and is working to shape these for the training that is planned. The Connect Extension site is almost ready to launch as is the repository. The research team conducted a scan of impact measures for broadband adoption. The Broadband Fellow has been meeting monthly with the leadership team for this effort prior to the monthly large team meeting. Additionally, the Fellow has been meeting with the evaluation committee led by John Greene and the Digital Literacy Toolkit committee. The team is planning evaluation and gathering information for the toolkit. ● New partners for NDEET have been identified from within the Land Grant system. ● The digital literacy team has contracted with Anna Kleiner to create a taxonomy of digital literacy resources currently offered for free. The discovery is that there are more than enough to help Extension Educators get started. There are so many in fact a crucial part of this project will be creating "packages" of resources that are ready to use. Next Steps: ● Continue on the digital literacy resources discovery and then move into "packaging" those resources in a way that agents can readily use them in their programming. Also, we will continue preparing for the face-to-face train-the-trainer event in May. Anticipated work for the next reporting period (December 1, 2021 - February 28, 2022): ● Develop a training matrix for the Digital Literacy Toolkit. Edit/review materials for the Community Planning Toolkit.
