“Climate Change in Extension: Priority Actions, Federal Steps Taken, and Prioritizing Our Next Steps”. Facilitated by Ros McCann, Jennison Kipp, and Paul Lachapelle with three breakout groups who discussed action toward: ■ Review and update NECI Action Items (Paul) ■ Plan a Story Map for Extension Climate Programming (Jennison) ■ Visualize Fall 2022 Extension Climate Summit hosted by ECOP (Ros) ○ Synthesizing input gathered during and feedback from partners at the conference ○ Strategic planning for next joint summit, coordinating with ANREP board to avoid conflicts with ANREP bi-annual conferences; interest expressed from UWisconsin to host next joint event. Output 5 – To have a nationally recognized Climate Literacy program with modules that will be the “go to certification” by internal and external partners ● IN PROCESS ● Activities of the NECI Curriculum Development Committee (“Action Team”) and organizers of the Monthly Professional Development meetings – many of which are being led by Wendy Hamilton and Rick Schumann of the NECI SC – are moving us toward achieving this output. ● A “NECI PD Meeting Speaker” Google sheet is being used to track PD speakers and all meetings are recorded and posted on the NECI website and on the Extension Connect NECI Subgroup.

ONGOING Support and Leadership of NECI and NECAT Activities ● NECAT Hires: National Extension Climate Action Team (NECAT) Climate

fellow/postdoc – Dr. Sabrina Drill - hired at 0.5 FTE beginning May 15, 2022 and is hosted by Montana State University under the supervision of Dr. Paul Lachapelle and NECAT Co-PIs Betsy Newman and Jennison Kipp. ● Correction: NECAT Communications fellow hired at 0.25 FTE (*not 0.5 FTE as indicated in March-May 2022 Quarterly Report) beginning May 3, 2022. Heather Hubbard is serving in this role with the UF/IFAS Program for Resource Efficient Communities (PREC). She is also currently employed with the Delaware Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) department and is working on their LMI Solar Pilot Program, Green Energy Program, Energy Efficiency Investment Fund, and Weatherization Assistance; excellent synergies with NECI and NECAT work. ● New NECI Steering Committee member: David Kay has helped onboard a new NECI Steering Committee member, Dr. Jerri Husch (husch@udel.edu), who wrote the following on August 25 via email and joined the September 7 2022 SC meeting to introduce herself, meet the SC members, and learn more:
