Please explain briefly how your project works with these audiences. ● We strive to encourage NECI participation with these audiences and invite guest presenters from these audiences for the NECI Professional Development Meetings to inform and educate members on the necessity of including these audiences in climate change work. Guest speakers who have joined our PD meetings with an explicit focus on reaching and serving underrepresented audiences are listed below. Full details and recordings are available at https://nationalextensionclimateinitiative.net/pd-meetings ○ Dr. Karletta Chief, University of Arizona/Tucson – July 6, 2022 – discussed “Unique Climate Change Impacts on Water Resources of American Indians and Alaska Natives in the U.S. ○ Ms. Maureen McCarthy, Native Waters and Arid Lands – April 6, 2022 – discussed the USDA NIFA Climate Hub project “Native Climate: Strengthening the role of Climate Hubs in Indian Country” ○ Mr. Fred Tutman, Patuxnet Riverkeeper – February 2, 2022 – “Support Climate and Environmental Action with Marginalized Communities” Significant Results: ● NECI Email Listserv: 292 total subscribers, 14 new joins from June-August ‘22 ● NECI Connect Extension: 653 total subscribers, 93 new joins from June-August ‘22 ● NECI Facebook: The Facebook group has had 211 unique views from June-August ‘22, with a steady incline of members and posts over time.
