Beginning and end of workshops (pre-post surveys)
This is an example of pre-post survey questions that would be administered at the start of the workshop and then after the workshop (two separate measurements):
Before this workshop, please rate your level of knowledge about logic models (pre)
After this workshop, please rate your level of knowledge about logic models (post)
Retrospective post-then-pre surveys
For advice on when to use the restrospective post-then-pre design, read: When Use Retrospective Post-then-Pre Design Also, look at the blog post from the American Evaluation Association by Debi Lang and Judy Savageau called, "Starting at the End: Measuring Learning Using Retrospective Pre-Post Evaluations."
Follow-up surveys
More advice on creating basic end-of-sessions evaluations is in this tip sheet: Questions to Think About End-of-Session Designs
Survey Tools
Online survey research software, such as Qualtrics (which many universities license) is a great way to collect follow-up data from workshop participants. For more information on surveys, see the University of Florida Institute of Agriculture and Food Sciences "Savvy Survey Series."
