Using Animated Pollinator Video to Educate Underserved Populations Fellow: Michael Oltrogge, Nebraska Indian Community College Team Work Plan Fellow Report: Our team has created and submitted our timeline, case statement and budget. We have honed in on our target audience (4th graders in underserved native communities in Nebraska). We have created three storylines for the animated series. We have a completed storyboard for the first storyline with drawings. Nathan character established. We have met monthly with our partners and stakeholders to discuss the storyline. We have conducted storyboarding meetings twice a week for 6 weeks with our creative development team (one Mondays and Fridays). We have identified an audience for initial feedback on the storyline through FALCON. We have purchased and read Moonshot for story development. We have identified a pilot audience for the completed episode (Summer pow-wow camp in Nebraska.) Significant Results: ● Knowledge gained on first storyline: based on feedback from Dr. Oltrogge, Dr. Spevak and Dr. Williams, we've made the following changes to storyline: ○ Replaced black sludge with golden pollen. ○ Replaced industrial company with town developer. ○ Replaced wasp queen with Molly the Mower. ○ Incorporated the 4 R's - relationship, redistribution, responsibility and reciprocity.

○ Incorporated the 3 sisters - corn, beans and squash ○ Incorporated native character - cat named Buffalo

Experience(s) working with your Coach, Catalysts and/or Key Informants as applicable: Experience working with Tira, Fred and Rick has been stellar. They are top-notch. Helena and Ashley are fantastic too! Anticipated Work for Next Reporting Period: (Please list the objectives and goals for the next reporting period.) ● Narrow in on the final storyline to begin scripting and character build out for four pollinator superheroes - bumblebee, bat, hover fly and monarch butterfly. Plot build out for episode, create one-sheeter for FALCON audience feedback. Third draft of case statement.
