Creating a Food Safety Consortium: A Multi-State Effort to Support Customers, Home-based Businesses and Retailers Fellow: Ben Chapman, North Carolina State University Team Work Plan Fellow Report: During the current reporting period, the team has met frequently to define specific goals for the upcoming year to make progress in both consortium/network formation as well as to support progress in the topic area. Two "bootcamps" are being planned to occur in spring and summer 2023 to cover current and emerging issues for home food preservation and retail food safety. Significant Results: The consortium/network was invited to present an in-depth session at the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences national conference in September 2023, where short sessions will be presented on each of the three topic areas of home food preservation, cottage foods and home-based businesses, and retail food safety.
