Developing a Sustainable Model for Community-Engaged Dissemination of Health Resources to Benefit the Public Fellow: Dee Walls, University of Illinois Team Work Plan Fellow Report: Audience engagement (increasing attendance numbers and diversifying attendee demographics): ● We have worked to plan promotional activities for our upcoming series in collaboration with the Extension Foundation, including an informational webinar and paid ad campaigns through Google and Facebook. ● We have developed a survey tool and recruitment scripts to be sent out to individuals who have not previously attended one of our webinars. These materials have been reviewed by a qualitative researcher at our university and are being finalized. ● We have drafted questions for potential focus groups to follow up with those who complete the survey for additional, more nuanced information. Findings from surveys and focus groups will be used to inform future webinar topics and marketing strategies. Graduate student professional development: ● Our original conversations around the incorporation of webinar presentations into requirements for a graduate certificate in science communication resulted in the need to find an alternative administrative entity within the institution to host the certificate. While this may not be the Graduate College, we are exploring other options, including an opportunity through the College of ACES. Extension professional learning community: ● We have worked on content development for pilot learning community workshops to take place during the summer. Program model dissemination: ● We have agreed that developing our playbook into a publication through Extension Foundation would be a desired deliverable. Significant Results: ● We have identified ways to streamline our approaches to collaborating with our institutional marketing partners. ● We have identified personnel/administrative responsibilities as a point of concern in offering a graduate certificate.
