Dr. Jeffrey Shoulson

Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs

In his role as Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Jeffrey Shoulson supervises academic programdevelopment, review, and accreditationacross all units. In collaboration with the schools, colleges, and University Senate, he manages academic curricular standards and adjudicates appeals that come before the Office of the Provost. He administers the

Promotion, Tenure, and Reappointment processes for all of UConn’s schools and colleges. Shoulson also works w ith all of UConn’s academic units in their development of entrepreneurial and interdisciplinary programs. He supervises the Office of Clinical Placement Oversight and the Working Group on Interprofessional Education. He convenes the university-wide Advisory Committee on University Outreachand Engagement. Prior to becoming Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Shoulson served as Vice Provost for Academic Operations and, before that, as Vice Provost for InterdisciplinaryAffairs. Before moving into the Office of the Provost, Shoulson was Director of the Center for Judaic Studies and Contemporary JewishLife and held the Doris and Simon Konover Chair in JewishStudies. He is Professor of Literatures, Cultures, andLanguages andProfessor of English, and has affiliations with theMedieval Studies Program and the Middle East Studies Program. Hewas previously on the faculty at the Universityof Miami, where he also served as Director of Judaic Studies. Shoulson holds an A. B. in English Literature from Princeton University, an M. Phil. in Renaissance Studies from the Universityof Cambridge, anda Ph. D. in English Literature from Yale University.

Dr. Michael O'Neill

AssociateDean and AssociateDirector of Cooperative Extension Dr. Mike O’Neill is the Senior Associate DeanandAssociate Director for Extension and Diversity in the College of Agriculture, Healthand Natural Resources (CAHNR) at the University of Connecticut. Mike oversees the UConn Cooperative Extension Systemthat includes faculty and

staff from the Department of Extensionand also faculty and staffmembers with Extension appointments in eight departments across the CAHNR. Prior to joining UConn in 2012, Dr. O’Neill was the National ProgramLeader for Water Resources at the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture. He has a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Buffalo and an A.B. in Geography from UMBC. Mike’s extensionand researchprograms focus on the nexus of food, energy, environment, and water.
