As Vice Provost for University Outreachand Engagement andDirector of UNH Extension, Dr. La Valley works collaboratively with academic units across the u niversity and colleges to provide strategic direction for UNH’s outreach, K12 engagement, andprofessional education programs. Ken is a marinemicrobiologist and invertebrate physiologist by training. His areas of research interests are shellfishaquaculture, seafood safety, andmulti- trophic aquaculture systems.

Amy Loader

Associate Director of Programs, UNH Cooperative Extension

Amy Loader is Associate Director of Programs at University of NewHampshire Extension. She provides leadershipand oversight to extension’s educational programming throughout the State of New Hampshire. Amy supervises four programteam leaders; a specialist in program

development and evaluation; and a project manager. Her current initiatives include strategic planning; an assessment of extension’s programmatic structure; adoptionof a new reporting system; upgrades to extension educator promotion system; anddevelopment of a faculty engagement strategy. Amy’s background is in the diversified agri culture of the northeast. Prior to assuming the associate director role, Amy was a programteam leader of food and agriculture (2012-2016) and served two counties as a field specialist withconcentrations in fruit and vegetable production and soil health (2001- 2012). She is a two-time graduate of the Universityof New Hampshire.

Kate Guerdat has worked in the field of Youth Development for over 15 years with areas of experience spanning topics suchas youth organizational systems, workforce development, and programdesign. Upon completing her b achelor’s degree at Fordham University in Community Psychology, Kate’s early career included teaching Kindergarten to youth with behavioral and emotional challenges and

working with inner city vulnerable populations in afterschool programs, anda move south for a pursuit of a Master of Science in RecreationManagement. Uponcompletion of her m aster’s degree, Kate beganher career withNorth
