Quarterly Report NTAE Year 3 Qtr 1

More recent programefforts have focused on teen leadershipand engagement though the 4-H Ambassador Program. Although teens are often busy, they gravitate to the UVI 4-H Program in large part due to its authentic learning and community service components. In addition, althoughnot reflectedon the Trend Report, 4-H engagement has been positively impacted through the 4-H Healthy Habits grant supported by National 4-H Council with funding from the Walmart Foundation. This year, to date 1,123 youth, ages 8-12, have participated in teen-led, nutrition education programming. The 4-H Healthy Habits Programhas connected elementary and middle school-aged children and their families to an exemplary 4-H calendar of positive youth development activities, however, additional staffing would allow for a robust volunteer recruitment, development, retention, and support program that would lead to development of new, vibrant 4-H clubs.
