2 “Jobs created” includes direct hires that will be made as a result of the project’s operat ion. Also included are private-sector jobs that will be created within three years after project completion. 3 “Jobs retained” refers to the number of workers enrolled in specific training programs or to the number of jobs at businesses that will be retained because of an investment that makes the companies more competitive. 4 “Leveraged private investment” represents private -sector, non-project financial commitments that follow and are the result of the completion of an ARC-supported project or the delivery of services under an ARC-supported project.
