October 15, 2021

Dear University Leaders, 4-H ProgramLeaders, andExtension Directors,

Welcome to the 2021 4-H Pathways Leadership Institute! We are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to engagewithyou on October 27 th and 28 th with the goal of sharpening your changemanagement vision, deepening relationships with your peers, and taking an important step towards re-imagining the potential for 4-H to serve as a catalyst for change in our rapidly changing world. The keynote speaker for the Institutewill be Stephen M. Gavazzi, Ph. D., Professor, TheOhioState University. Dr. Gavazzi will share his perspective on the importance of building community across the landscape of Cooperative Extensionand the LGU system, andhow that can serve as a model to help parts of the University to collaborate and adapt to changing environments, shifting priorities and new constituencies. We will be discussing three case studies as developed by Susan Raymond, Ph.D., Senior Consultant, Changing Our World . The cases “lift up” key questions and barriers to success identified across the country by Extensionand 4-H leadership. The cases will provide fertile ground for facilitateddialogue designed to help your team identify the opportunities and options for addressing the challenges facing your University and your communities. A few special guests will alsobe joining the case discussions toprovide a private sector perspective, challenge your paradigms, and lend new, innovative insights as you develop your unique change management plans. Many thanks to our Pathways instructors, Jorge Atiles, Ph.D., Edwin Jones, Ph.D., Tonya L. Smith- Jackson, Ph.D., CPE, andRoger Rennekamp, Ph.D., for co-designing this Institute and lending their skills to this cohort. We also would like to acknowledge the National 4-H Council for securing financial support to the Pathways process and the Leadership Institute.
