National Extension Climate Action Team

Fellow Report: During this two-month reporting period, members of the National Extension Climate Action Team: ● Continue to serve on and contribute to ECOP Climate PAT/PITs ● Contributed to the Extension Foundation's "Climate Corps Concept Note" that was shared with NIFA in December/January ● Participated in the NIFA Climate Adaptation Planning webinar held on January 20, 2022 - continue to promote and encourage NECI members to register their Extension programs and assets in the National Registry of Cooperative Extension Programs and Assets ● Change in meetings: based on NECI membership feedback via in-meeting polls and a survey we broke out professional development from the monthly membership meetings and effective January 2022 now host three meetings each month: one (1) 60-minute professional development meeting with guest presenters; one (1) 60-minute membership engagement meeting; and one(1) 60-minute steering committee meeting. ● Continued drafting NECI's operating policies (protocols) for terms of service, communications, and workflow ● Participated in the Extension Foundation's Impact Collaborative Summit held January 18-20, 2022 - hosted two NECI Steering Committee Meetings - one in December 2021 and one in January 2022 - hosted one NECI Membership Engagement Meeting in January 2022 Experience(s) working with your Catalysts and Key Informants: Our experience working with Chuck Ross continues to be very positive. His experience, insight, and guidance is deeply appreciated and serves to guide us toward achievable and productive goals. ● Ongoing relationship development and cultivation with federal agencies, partners - ongoing improvements to NECI website and workflow ● Ongoing NECI membership recruitment Anticipated work for the next reporting period (March 1, 2021 - May 31, 2022) ● Establish NECI committees to further provide opportunities for NECI members to participate and advance the work as it relates to climate in the areas of: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Professional Development; Communications ● Hire a 0.50 FTE post-doc to serve as a climate coordinator to help develop and
