Developing additional partnerships

Please indicate if your program has encountered any barriers in this quarter: ● Project concept is new and/or there are limited existing programs or info to build upon ● Other Other barriers encountered this quarter: We had to identify the most cost-effective method to conduct this work. It took some time for us to identify that method since this project is not very common practice.
Do you anticipate the project meeting its goals and objectives for the upcoming quarter? Yes
Thinking about the short, mid and long term goals of the project, please indicate your success toward each this quarter: Short-term About the amount of progress I expected Mid-term Less progress than I would like Long-term About the amount of progress I expected Please comment about the project’s progress toward short, mid, and long-term goals: Again, due to the seasonality requirement to conduct this program when the weather is favorable, we spent most of our time identifying the farm site, and farmer, identifying the most cost-effective method, forming the team, bringing in more collaborators, and identifying the existing water quality issues at and near this farm. Our short-term program goals met our expectations but our mid-term goal was delayed due to the seasonality requirement of the project, we could not get started with the field demo. However, our long-term goal is right on target. We expect to have a greater impact once this project is completed. Anticipated Work for Next Reporting Period: (Please list the objectives and goals for the next reporting period.) Now that we identified the farm site, farmer, cost-effective method, and collaborators assisting us in this project, we also recruited students (our previously identified student could not participate in this project because he left the program due to a family emergency but we recruited a new set of students). Our goal is to establish a well-rounded pilot demo to conduct our education and outreach efforts by promoting applications of TURF type of technologies to farmers to try and apply.
