Social Media
Social media can enhance your online presence and influence factors that improve SEO. Here are some best practices:
Use social media to promote your website and vice versa. This increases your digital footprint. When posting on social media, link to your website from your social media channels and cross link between all your channels. This helps search engines see that they are all interconnected and share similar information from a common, cohesive content provider. Focus on niche content. The more the better. Avoid trying to be all things to all people. Focus on interests people have and create content about a specific interest. Brand your content with your unique look, messaging, and style. It helps people identify who you are, what you stand for, and what you provide that is different from your competitors. Branding is the chance to share your promise and commitment of service to your customer. It is also a way to visually standout through images, slogans, logos, and customer service. Our Cooperative Extension organizations have developed branding kits and visual style guides to provide resources to help us in our work. Be consistent by posting frequently and on a regular basis. Try to make daily or weekly commitments to posting and updating websites. Outside of content generated by your organization, post content relevant or interesting to your audience to keep them engaged. Be patient.
Bottom line: Lots of quality content + consistent posting + excellent branding = top SEO.
