Using Digital Technology in Extension Education

Zoom Resources: Security Info & Livestream Tips I’ve heard many questions about Zoom security measures, including the private chat function. This has been much in the news; here’s an article from Forbes about that. I located this white paper produced by Zoom; it provides info about the sec urity features and functions (including chat and screen sharing). It’s nicely indexed so that you can jump to the section that you are interested in. IMO: Don’t put anything into private chat you wouldn’t be okay sharing in a public setting. If you are interested in using Zoom for livestream, check out this resource from Hootsuite blog. It’s actually the ultimate guide to all live streaming across social platforms. Bookmark this piece. For all things Zoom, visit the company’s help center ; it contains lots of video tutorials, training resources, etc.

And here’s a great article from the BBC about why Zoom drains us, and what we can do to combat “Zoom fatigue.”

It includes tips to capture good video, create a compelling storyline, and basic editing. (It’s demonstrated in the video). You’ll learn about iMovie, Windows Moviemaker, and even the basics of Adobe Premiere Pro.

This webinar was presented by the Association for Communication Excellence (ACE) Electronic Media & Photography Learning group.

YouTube Hacks and Instagram Stories Tutorial Many of us are using YouTube for our Cooperative Extension work. I recently found this blog post with some helpful YouTube hacks (features and tips). I learned a great deal from this piece, including keyboard shortcuts, how to create a branded URL, and more. There is also a great deal of interest in Cooperative Extension in using Instagram and Facebook stories. Here’s an excel lent tutoria l on how to use the Instagram stories feature. It walks you through the process step-by-step.
